Decided to ditch my Nespresso machine as it just didn’t heat the milk up enough to enjoy my coffee. Carley has now taken the machine to her salon so she can make latte’s and cappuccinos for her clients.
Went and bought a Sage Barista Express from Lakeland and its a much better machine (and twice the price) as it grinds the beans and has a milk steaming wand.
Takes a bit of time to get it set up correctly as each different type of bean needs to be ground at a different setting of coarseness in order to achieve the correct espresso pull.
The age of the beans also has a bearing on the grind level, the older they are the finer it has to be set. When I say older I mean this is measured in days, not weeks. The beans lose some o ftheir oils and become drier, so the water flows through the portafilter easier and the pressure doesn’t build sufficiently to get a tasty brew.
With a bit of practice it produces a nice espresso.
Would recommend.
